Scholarship overview:

The Friedrich Ebert Stiftung scholarships provides awards to both Germans and international students who wish to undertake Bachelors, Masters or PhD degree studies in German universities or technical colleges. Candidates could choose to Study in any field / subject. The Foundation supports young talents who want to advance their personal development and be among the best in their field. The scholarship is looking for individuals committed to socio-political goals.

Scholarship value & inclusion:

Scholars receives approximately €744 each month. In addition, with €300 Euros monthly flat-rates study fee, that scholars can free use to take care of their needs. Scholars may also receive health insurance contribution fee of about €71 depending on the applicant’s health situation and possibly long-term insurance care of up to €15 each month. –See How to get Fully funded scholarship in USA

Candidates / scholars with with children can get allowances of €155 each month for his/her children upkeep. The scholarship doesn’t have to be repaid. the scholarship foundation supports stays abroad during the funding period via subsidies for travel or airplane expenses, international insurance for study project research stays, language courses and internships of up to one year period.

International students from all over the world can apply for this scholarship. The foundation tends to support students with little financial opportunities or those whose family comes in as a migrant.

Eligibility requirement:

German Candidates, and foreign students with education those who possess refuge status. Applicants should be an individual who is committed to society, e.g those that participate actively in in students council, youth work, participating in associations and Non-government organization NGOs or in political organizations that are appropriate to the tenets of the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung scholarships.

Those who are currently enrolled at a German university are ineligible to apply. Candidates should possess sociopolitical engagement and identification with the values of social democracy; above average performance in their studies and school, political thinking, critical thinking; zeal for knowledge, open-mindedness and tolerance; ability to work with a team; and self reflection.

Candidates for basic-Bachelors and masters degree courses must have following listed below:

  • Certification of place of study or enrolment certificate at a state or state-recognized German university or technical college for the course for which they want to be funded.
  • Foreign candidates must demonstrate adequate German language skills.
  • First year students including (Germans and foreign students) with education, must apply before or at the beginning first semester.

Note:

PhD applicants must have:

  • Unconditional notification of admission to the doctoral scholarship.
  • Foreign candidates must also demonstrate adequate German skills.

Opening date:

June 15, 2021.

Application Guidelines:

To apply for the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Scholarships, candidates must fill and submit the online application form. If you’re eligible for the scholarship, the scholarship providers will further request for additional documentation from you via e-mail. The application deadline for international masters candidates is 30th November 2021 for the winter semester, whereas 31th May 2021 is the deadline for summer the summer semester respectively.
