Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for the aauw international fellowships, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Obtain citizenship of a country other than the United States or possess a nonimmigrant visa if a resident of the United States. Women who are, or expect to be during the fellowship year, U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or dual U.S. citizen And another country is not eligible.
  • Hold an academic degree (earned in the United States or abroad) equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in the United States, completed by November 15, 2021.
  • Intends to devote herself full-time to the proposed academic plan during the fellowship year
  • She intends to return to her home country to pursue a professional career.
  • Be proficient in English and confirm proficiency by submitting a valid score on the ETS TOEFL* (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or other acceptable verification.
  • Postdoctoral applicants must provide evidence of their doctoral degree. Hold a doctoral degree classified as a research degree (eg, Ph.D., Ed.D., D.B.A., DM) or MBA. by November 15, 2021; Indicate where they will conduct their research.
  • Applicants for Masters/First Professional Degree and Ph.D. must be enrolled in a US accredited institution located in the US during the fellowship year.
