Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities Scholarship

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities Scholarship is available to students who are enrolled at a Hispanic-Serving Institution, which is defined as an institution that has 25% or more undergraduate Hispanic students. The scholarship provides up to $5000 per year for up to four years, with the potential for renewal if the student maintains satisfactory academic progress.

The scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic merit and financial need.

About The HACU Scholarships

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities, founded in 1986, with a founding membership of eighteen institutions. Now representing more than 500 colleges and universities in the United States, Latin America, Spain, and school districts throughout the U.S.

HACU is the only national association representing existing and emerging Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs). The Association’s headquarters are in San Antonio, Texas, with regional offices in Washington, D.C. and Sacramento, California.

Hacu Scholarship Requirements

The Hacu Scholarship application is open for applicants who meet the meet the following criteria:

  • Demonstrate financial need if required by scholarship sponsor (typically determined by FAFSA).
  • Meet specific criteria for the scholarships to which they are applying.
  • Students must currently attend a HACU-member college or university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico at the time applications are completed and scholarship awards are made. Students transferring schools, the school must also be a HACU-member to be eligible to apply. For the most up-to-date listing of HACU-member institutions, please click here .
  • Scholarships are ONLY for college students who are currently enrolled during the current academic session. All students must have completed their first semester of freshman year at a HACU member institution at the time of applying. High School students are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply.

Miller Lite Brewed to Be Bright Scholarships Requirements

Applicants who wish to apply for the Miller Lite Brewed to Be Bright Scholarship must:

  • Be a full-time or part-time undergraduate student
  • Must be attending a two- or four-year institution in a city/state selected for the award
  • Open to all majors
  • GPA: 2.5 or higher
  • US Citizen, Permanent Resident or DACA
  • Must be 21 years old or older
  • This scholarship opportunity also includes a fully paid sponsorship to participate in HACU/¡Adelante! Leadership Institute Conference in San Diego, California, where recipients will be invited to attend.

  • Sciences: Biology, Chemistry, Pre-Medicine, Physics, Applied Sciences, Material Sciences

  • Must be a US citizen or permanent resident of the United States
  • A 500-word essay on the following topic:
  • What is your personal motivation for applying for the Coca-Cola scholarship as a first-generation college student?
